Vacation Mode

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 27 August 2026 · Applies to the Android app “Vacation Mode” (io.remnet.vacationmode) by RemNet.

The short version: Vacation Mode collects no data, shares no data, and has no internet access. Everything the app knows lives on your phone and never leaves it.

1. No data collection

Vacation Mode does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash reporting and no user accounts. The app does not request the INTERNET permission, so it is technically incapable of sending data anywhere.

2. Data stored on your device

To do its job, the app stores a small amount of information locally on your phone, and only there:

Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of the above.

3. Permissions the app uses, and why

PermissionWhy the app needs it
Do Not Disturb access To silence notifications when a vacation starts and restore your previous settings when it ends.
Call screening role To silently decline incoming calls during a vacation. Numbers are evaluated on the device in the moment of the call.
Home app (launcher) role To show a simplified home screen with only your chosen apps while a vacation is active.
Contacts (optional) Only used if you enable “starred contacts can call”: when a call comes in, the app checks — on the device — whether the caller is one of your starred contacts. Your contacts are never stored, copied or transmitted.
Installed app list To show the picker of apps you can keep or borrow. The list never leaves your device.

4. Children

Vacation Mode is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. Since the app collects no data, no children's data is collected either.

5. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app ever changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that version is released, with a new effective date.
